In 2017 we decided to ask volunteers to help us spread and extend the joy our daffodils provide. We know there are plenty of people that are not able to visit us. With the help of our volunteers, daffodils were delivered to patients and staff at Cayuga Medical Center, a VA hospital, elderly housing, nursing homes and shut-ins. We estimate we delivered flowers to about 250 people. In 2018 our goal is to deliver daffodils to at least 1000 people. To achieve this we need volunteers to pick and/or deliver flowers after public viewing ends. We will begin Sunday May 6th 5-7:30 PM. We will continue daily, 9AM-7:30PM,  through Sunday May 13th if there enough willing volunteers.  The best way for us to compile volunteers is for you to sign up on our Facebook page. It is called Daffodil Daze, Candor NY and has a sign up button. If you are not on Facebook  you can volunteer thru the contact page on this site. Please be specific about the dates, times and functions (pick and or deliver) that you are signing up for, and leave a contact number.   Also let us know if you have recipients in mind or are willing to go where needed. Even if you can’t volunteer  let us know of any shut ins, nursing homes, hospices, hospitals etc. that would enjoy a preview of spring by receiving our daffodils. We will also accept donations of clean vases during both Daffodil Daze and Operation Extend The Joy. Without your help, it’s only a good idea, please help make it a reality.
